5 WhatsApp MCP connectors for Claude and ChatGPT, compared (2026)

Kaption, Blueticks, TimelinesAI, Eazybe and Cooby all offer a WhatsApp MCP connection. What each one works with, what it costs and where your messages go.

Kaption AIUpdated November 2, 2026

Short answer: five WhatsApp Web tools advertise an MCP connection for AI assistants as of November 2026: Kaption, Blueticks, TimelinesAI, Eazybe and Cooby. MCP isn't unique to any one of them. They differ in which assistants they name, whether the assistant can act or only read, what plan you need, and where your messages sit while the assistant works.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard that lets an assistant like Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor call outside tools. A WhatsApp MCP connector gives the assistant tools such as "search my chats" or "summarize this group", so you can ask about WhatsApp in plain language from the assistant you already use.

Updated November 7, 2026. Competitors' prices and store figures checked on November 3, 2026; Kaption's prices are its 2027 plans.

TL;DR

  • One person who wants Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor on their own WhatsApp, free to try: Kaption. It's unlimited in every account's first 60 days, then counted in credits a month on a plan, and the relay can't read your messages.
  • A sales team that wants every chat logged in a CRM and an MCP on top: TimelinesAI (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex) or Eazybe (Claude and Codex).
  • HubSpot teams that only want the assistant to read: Cooby, whose MCP on team plans is read-only.
  • Scheduling and campaigns plus MCP, REST API and webhooks: Blueticks, on any paid plan.
  • If you need a connection that works with your computer off: not Kaption. Its tools only work while the extension or desktop app is open.

Kaption is our product; we list where others are better.

Which WhatsApp tools have an MCP server?

These five advertise one on their pricing pages or listings as of Nov 3, 2026. Prices are the lowest plan that includes MCP.

Among the other WhatsApp Web tools we checked, WAPlus CRM, WA Web Plus and Pragmaz don't advertise MCP. WA Web Plus offers webhooks and integrations instead.

Is MCP unique to Kaption?

No. Blueticks, TimelinesAI, Eazybe and Cooby (read-only) advertise MCP too. What sets Kaption apart is narrower: of these five, it's the only one that includes MCP free (in every account's first 60 days), it also offers a local connection through npx, and its relay forwards requests without being able to read messages. Whether that matters depends on whether you're one person or a team.

How does Kaption's WhatsApp MCP work?

Kaption's MCP runs through Kaption on your computer. Your AI app sends a request to the relay at mcp.kaptionai.com, which checks your sign-in and passes it to the Kaption extension in WhatsApp Web, or the Kaption desktop app. Kaption runs it against your WhatsApp and sends back only the answer. The relay can't read your messages, and its source code is public, with signed deploys.

What the assistant can do: search and read chats, summarize conversations, look up contacts and groups, export contacts, manage WhatsApp Business labels and notes, manage reminders and chat lists, archive, pin or mute chats, list calls recorded with the Kaption extension, and schedule a message to a one-to-one chat after you confirm it. It can also send a message, queued and capped per hour and per day. Sending is on by default, Kaption shows a notice the first time an assistant sends, and you can switch it off in Kaption → AI assistants → Connections. Locked chats are never visible.

How you connect: turn on Cloud MCP in the extension (AI Assistants (MCP) › Cloud Bridge › Enable) or in the desktop app's settings, add https://mcp.kaptionai.com/mcp to your assistant as a custom connector, and sign in with your phone number and a 6-digit code sent on WhatsApp. There's also a local server for Claude Desktop, Cursor and Claude Code through npx, which needs Node.js 18 or newer. Setup guides: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the step-by-step MCP guide.

Limits: the tools work only while Kaption is open, in WhatsApp Web in Chrome or Edge or in the desktop app; otherwise they return "Extension not connected". Claude and ChatGPT are unlimited in every account's first 60 days; after that they need a plan, in credits a month: Lifetime local AI 50, Pro 250, Business 500 with its 2 numbers plus 250 per extra number. A read uses 1 credit, a send 2 and a summary 3. Lifetime local AI is US$99 once; Pro is US$11.99 a month (US$7.99 billed yearly) and Business US$19.99. See pricing. Bulk or unsolicited messaging is forbidden by Kaption's terms. Kaption isn't a CRM, so the assistant works with WhatsApp's own labels, notes and lists, not deals or pipelines.

On the assistant side, Claude Free can add one custom connector, which is enough for Kaption. In ChatGPT, custom MCP apps need developer mode, and availability depends on your plan and workspace. More on the MCP page.

What does Blueticks' MCP offer?

Blueticks offers a native MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT on every paid plan, alongside a REST API and webhooks. Blueticks is a scheduler with recurring messages, bulk campaigns and an AI agent that answers customers.

  • Good at: unlimited scheduled and recurring messages, campaigns to groups, labels or CSV, and, on its Pro plan, sending from the cloud with the computer off.
  • Limits: Basic and Standard run in the browser, so the computer needs to be on; Pro ($45 to $50 per user a month) runs schedules, campaigns and the agent in Blueticks' cloud. The free plan doesn't include MCP. It has the lowest rating here, 2.6 from 406, with reviews about scheduled messages not sending when the browser is closed on Basic.
  • Price: Basic $9 per user a month, or $7 billed yearly, as of Nov 3, 2026. 60,000 users on the Chrome Web Store.

What does TimelinesAI's MCP offer?

TimelinesAI offers a WhatsApp MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Codex at no extra charge; it draws on the plan's messaging and API quota. TimelinesAI is a shared team inbox for many WhatsApp numbers with deep CRM sync.

  • Good at: teams. It syncs with Pipedrive, HubSpot, Zoho, monday.com, Salesforce, Close and more on every plan, and adds ChatGPT summaries, AI auto-replies and workflows.
  • Limits: no free plan, only a 10-day trial. Each connected WhatsApp number takes a seat. Conversations live in your TimelinesAI workspace, server-side, and keep syncing to your CRM.
  • Price: Starter $35 per seat a month, or $28 billed yearly, as of Nov 3, 2026. The Chrome extension has 3,000 users and 4.2 from 14 ratings, but it's a side panel for a web app, so that count understates its user base.

What does Eazybe's MCP offer?

Eazybe lists "WhatsApp MCP for Claude & Codex" on its Starter plan. Eazybe syncs WhatsApp chats into your CRM for B2B sales teams.

  • Good at: two-way CRM sync with HubSpot, Zoho, Bitrix24 and Google Sheets, labels, a smart inbox, chat backup to your CRM or cloud storage, unlimited scheduled messages, and AI summaries.
  • Limits: no permanent free plan, only a 4-day trial. Recent 1-star reviews describe being charged after cancelling and having to email to cancel.
  • Price: Starter $19 per user a month as of Nov 3, 2026. 30,000 users and 4.2 from 1.1K ratings.

What does Cooby's MCP offer?

Cooby lets you connect AI assistants through MCP on its team plans, read-only. Cooby is a HubSpot-focused layer for WhatsApp Web with tabs, snooze and reminders.

  • Good at: HubSpot (and Salesforce on higher plans) sync, a team inbox, multiple numbers, and inbox-zero tools like system and custom tabs.
  • Limits: the MCP is read-only, so the assistant can't organize or schedule anything. It's on team plans, not the $9.99 Extension Pro. A 1-star review from May 2026 says cancelling meant emailing support.
  • Price: Starter team $15.99 per user a month billed yearly, or $20.99 monthly, as of Nov 3, 2026. 20,000 users and 4.5 from 137 ratings.

Where do your messages go when an assistant reads them?

It depends on the tool, and it's worth knowing before you connect. Kaption runs each request on your computer and its relay can't read messages; the assistant you use still receives the answers it asks for. TimelinesAI keeps conversations in its own workspace and syncs them to your CRM. Eazybe says chat data lives in your CRM or cloud storage, not on its servers. Cooby's extension says chat data never leaves your computer, while its team plans sync messages to HubSpot or Salesforce. Blueticks' Basic and Standard run in the browser; Pro runs in its cloud.

When Kaption isn't the right pick

  • You need the connector to work with your computer off. Kaption's MCP tools only work while the extension or desktop app is open.
  • You want chats logged in a CRM. Kaption isn't a CRM. TimelinesAI, Eazybe and Cooby sync with CRMs.
  • A whole team shares WhatsApp numbers. TimelinesAI and Cooby are built for shared inboxes and seats.
  • You want an AI agent that answers customers on its own. Kaption doesn't do AI agents or auto-replies. Blueticks and TimelinesAI do.
  • You want to message many people at once. Kaption doesn't do bulk messaging; Blueticks and TimelinesAI run campaigns.
  • You use Codex and want it named as supported. TimelinesAI and Eazybe list Codex. Kaption names Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, plus any client that supports remote MCP with OAuth.

FAQ

What is a WhatsApp MCP server?

It's a server that gives an AI assistant tools to work with your WhatsApp, such as searching chats, summarizing a conversation or finding a contact, using the Model Context Protocol. You add it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client, and the assistant calls those tools when you ask.

Can I use a WhatsApp MCP connector for free?

With Kaption, for your first 60 days: every account starts with 60 days of Business, Claude and ChatGPT unlimited. After that Kaption's Free plan doesn't include it, and you need a plan (Lifetime local AI, Pro or Business). Blueticks, Eazybe, TimelinesAI and Cooby include MCP only on paid plans as of Nov 3, 2026.

Which WhatsApp MCP works with ChatGPT?

Kaption, Blueticks and TimelinesAI name ChatGPT. In ChatGPT, custom MCP apps need developer mode, and what's available depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace.

Which WhatsApp MCP works with Cursor?

Kaption and TimelinesAI name Cursor. Kaption has a one-click install for Cursor and VS Code, or you can add it to mcp.json.

Can the assistant send WhatsApp messages?

With Kaption, yes, unless you turn sending off; it should confirm the text and recipient with you first, and the computer and WhatsApp must stay open. Cooby's MCP is read-only. For Blueticks, TimelinesAI and Eazybe, the sources we checked don't say which actions their MCP allows.

Does Kaption store my chats on its servers?

No. The relay checks your sign-in and passes each request to Kaption on your computer, which sends back only the answer. Reminders and scheduled messages are stored in Kaption Cloud; messages aren't.

Do I need Claude Pro to use Kaption?

No. Claude Free can add one custom connector, which is enough for Kaption.

Why does Kaption say "Extension not connected"?

Kaption is closed, or Cloud MCP is off. Open WhatsApp Web with the Kaption extension, or the desktop app, and turn the connection on.
