Canonical: https://kaptionai.com/changelog/ Kaption ships several times a week. The Mac and Windows app updates itself within minutes of a release. The Chrome and Edge extension updates after the store finishes its review, so it can be a few versions behind; a store update then brings every change since the previous one. Each entry below is a version line (for example 0.94); "Builds" lists the builds that went out in it. Dates are the day the first build of the line reached users. It posts from your own number while WhatsApp Web is open (from 0.92, no update needed; also in Chrome). - Better: while a voice note plays, the words you have already heard stay lightly marked and the current word stands out. Pausing keeps your place. - Better: click any word in a transcript and WhatsApp’s player jumps there and plays from that word, while the transcript scrolls along. The arrow keys and Enter work too. - New: copy several messages at once and the voice notes come along as their transcripts, in order, like “[Voice note 0:42] …”. ## Kaption 0.95 (2 November 2026) Builds 0.95.0–0.95.10 · Chrome, Mac, Windows - New: rate any voice-note transcript with 👍 or 👎. After a 👎, tap the words that came out wrong. - New: schedule messages to group chats you post in. They go out from your own number on this computer, at most 3 group sends a day. - Fixed: call recordings that could not be transcribed in the desktop app now get their transcript. - Fixed: cloud dictation and call transcripts no longer fail on a blocked request, and uploads run in parallel. - New: after you rate a transcript, a “Share this voice note with Kaption?” button lets you send that one note to help us improve. It asks every time and never shares anything on its own. - Better: voice notes transcribed in the cloud highlight word by word as they play. No update needed (also in Edge). - Fixed: the Windows download on our website works again (Windows only). - Fixed: WhatsApp’s “Create event” form shows its date, time and location fields again with Kaption on. - Fixed: right after you install Kaption or sign in again, on-device voice-note transcripts wait a few seconds for sign-in to finish instead of failing. - Better: if your Kaption sign-in stops renewing, Kaption repairs it in the background right away. If that does not work, a “Sign in to Kaption again” window lets you confirm it is you with your WhatsApp (Mac, Windows only). - Better: the Mac and Windows app runs on a newer Chromium engine. On Mac it now needs macOS 13 Ventura or later (Mac, Windows only). ## Kaption 0.94 (1 November 2026) Builds 0.94.1–0.94.8 · Chrome, Mac, Windows - New: Backups for everyone (from 0.94.7): an encrypted backup file of your chats in a folder you choose, with Export now and hourly backups on Pro. - New: the AI assistants window has tabs with icons and the real Claude and ChatGPT logos. - New: Claude and ChatGPT can send messages from this computer by default, with a one-time notice the first time; on for everyone with Kaption 0.87.2 or newer, Chrome included. - New: call recordings have their own screen, opened from a button at the bottom of the left rail. - Better: WhatsApp Web stays quicker with Kaption on (far fewer background refreshes on busy accounts). - Better: the desktop app installs a downloaded update by itself and shows a new plan without a restart. - Fixed: voice notes are transcribed in the language spoken, never translated by mistake. - Fixed: HTML chat export works for Chinese-language users; priority support needs no form. - Better: email support works in the desktop app; "Check for plan updates" shows its result. - The Chrome Web Store has served 0.90.1 since 1 November, which also brought every change from 0.87.1 to 0.90 to the extension. ## Kaption 0.88 (22 October 2026) Builds 0.88.1–0.88.2 · Chrome, Mac, Windows - New: "Off" summary style keeps transcripts without summaries; Reload from there and Kaption reopens the chat you were in. - Better: the Claude and ChatGPT connection reconnects by itself after it drops, and the AI assistants window shows why a reconnect failed. - Fixed: on current WhatsApp Web, privacy blur covers the messages in an open chat again, the Kaption side panel loads, and the reminder and schedule buttons no longer cover the microphone. ## Kaption 0.61 (26 May 2026) Builds 0.58.0–0.61.5 · Chrome, Edge - New: snoozed chats go into a “Snoozed” list or label, so you can find them on your phone too. In groups you can export the member list too. Turn it off in Settings if you don’t need it. - Better: snooze now offers “15 minutes” for a quick break, and clicking a Kaption voice-note notification opens that chat at the message. - Fixed: privacy blur hides your chat list again on the new WhatsApp Web, and the Kaption side panel shows on the welcome screen again. - Fixed: transcripts that never appeared when WhatsApp redrew a message while you scrolled now show up, and Kaption’s sign-in check message reaches you at most twice a day. ## Kaption 0.55 (15 May 2026) Builds 0.55.0–0.55.9 · Chrome, Edge - New: snooze a chat: Kaption archives it and brings it back at the time you pick, from presets or a time you type. Turn snooze on or off in Kaption’s settings. - Better: the button under a transcript now pastes the text into the message box as a draft, so nothing goes out by mistake. Shift+click still sends it right away. - New: download your contacts as CSV or JSON, all of them or only the ones saved in your phone, and download the members of a group. - New: Claude and ChatGPT can look up your contacts and groups, including who is in a group and who its admins are. - Fixed: voice notes that spun for almost a minute and then showed “Failed to get audio” now load, or stop within seconds when WhatsApp no longer has the file. ## Kaption 0.54 (28 April 2026) Builds 0.54.0–0.54.11 · Chrome, Edge - New: connect WhatsApp to Claude and ChatGPT: ask them to find a chat, read voice-note transcripts, summarize a conversation or set a reminder.
