# Schedule WhatsApp messages from your computer

WhatsApp has no schedule button. Kaption adds one to WhatsApp Web and the Kaption desktop app: write the message, pick the date and time, and it goes out on its own.

## Write it now, send it at the right time

A birthday at 8 AM, an invoice reminder on Monday morning, a reply to a client in another time zone. Scheduling lets you write while it is on your mind and deliver at an hour that suits the other person.

## How to schedule a message

1. **Install Kaption.** Add the extension to Chrome or Edge, or download the desktop app.
2. **Open the chat.** Open the 1:1 conversation in WhatsApp Web or the desktop app.
3. **Write and pick a time.** Type the message, choose the date and time, and confirm. The time is your computer’s local time.
4. **Keep the computer on.** Kaption sends from your own WhatsApp session, so the computer must be on and WhatsApp connected at that time. Cancel or edit the message any time before it goes out.

- **Reminders, too:** A reminder on a message is for you: nothing is sent. Use it when the next step depends on whether they reply.
- **No server sends for you:** The message goes out from your own session. Your chats are not handed to a server to send them.
- **From your AI assistant:** With the Kaption MCP server, an assistant can schedule one message to one chat after you confirm the text and time.
- **Not for bulk sending:** Scheduling is for one-to-one messages people expect. Bulk or unsolicited messages break the terms and can get a number banned by WhatsApp.
