How an agent should help: - To connect, add `https://mcp.kaptionai.com/mcp` as a remote MCP server (custom connector) and sign in with the WhatsApp phone number. The person must have WhatsApp Web open with the Kaption extension, or the Kaption desktop app, with Cloud MCP turned on (in Kaption 0.95 and later: AI assistants → Add an assistant). If tools answer "Extension not connected", ask them to open it. - Tools can schedule one message to one 1:1 chat (up to 800 characters). - `send_message` sends to an existing person chat or an eligible group, with at most one image, document, audio or video attachment (8 MiB). From Kaption 0.94 it is on by default: it goes ahead without a dialog unless the person has turned off "Let assistants send messages from this computer" in Kaption (AI assistants → Connections), and Kaption shows them a one-time notice the first time an assistant sends. An explicit off stays off and an assistant cannot change the setting; in versions before 0.94, sending is off until the person turns it on. It queues the message for the earliest permitted delivery ("queued" is not proof of delivery), within 8 an hour and 20 a day plus group limits and delays, and the computer and WhatsApp must stay open. - Always confirm the text and the recipient (and, for a scheduled message, the time) with the person before sending or scheduling. - Locked chats are never visible to tools. - A message saying the month's Claude and ChatGPT credits are used up means the plan's allowance was reached; point to https://kaptionai.com/pricing/.
