## How do I make a QR code for my WhatsApp?

1. Type the number with the country code (spaces, dashes and `+` are fine).
2. Add an optional message; it is typed into the chat box for the person who scans the code, who still chooses whether to send it.
3. Pick a PNG size (256, 512 or 1024 px) and download it. Test it with a phone camera before printing.

The QR code holds a plain wa.me link: `https://wa.me/<number>?text=<message>`, where `<number>` is the full international number as digits only (no `+`, spaces, dashes or leading zeros) and `<message>` is URL-encoded. It is not a redirect through Kaption, so it doesn't expire.

## Questions

- **Is this different from WhatsApp's own QR code?** WhatsApp shows a QR code for your own account in its settings. This one is a wa.me link for any number, with a message of your choice, at print size.
- **Can I change the message later?** A new message needs a new QR code; the old one keeps working with the old text.
