# 4 Best WhatsApp Web Translator Extensions, Compared (2026)

> WA Web Translate, WAPlus CRM, Pragmaz and Kaption compared for translating WhatsApp Web chats: free limits, prices, store ratings and who each fits.

Canonical: https://kaptionai.com/blog/en/best-whatsapp-web-translator-extensions-compared/

WhatsApp Web has no translate button, so if you chat with customers, suppliers or family in another language on a computer, you either copy every message into a translator tab or install an extension that translates inside the chat. This guide compares four extensions that do the second.

*Updated November 7, 2026. Competitors' prices and store figures checked on November 3, 2026; Kaption's prices are its 2027 plans.*

Kaption is our product; we list where others are better.

## TL;DR: which translator should you pick?

- **Best free translator:** WA Web Translate (WADesk). The extension is free, with a choice of Google, DeepL or AI engines.
- **Best for sales teams that also want a CRM:** WAPlus CRM, which adds translation to labels, a pipeline and CRM integrations, with a monthly character cap per plan.
- **Best if you sell in Brazil and already use Pragmaz:** its TranscriptAI feature, which bundles transcription and translation.
- **Best for translation plus voice notes, summaries and privacy in one tool:** Kaption, with live translation in 36 languages. Translation is free only in your first 60 days, so long-term free use is where it loses.

## How do the four translators compare?

The table uses each Chrome Web Store listing and each vendor's pricing page as of Nov 3, 2026. Store user counts are rounded by the store.

For a hands-on walkthrough of translating a chat, see our guide to the [WhatsApp Web translator extension](/blog/en/whatsapp-web-translator-extension-real-time/).

## 1. Kaption: how does its translation work?

Kaption shows incoming messages in your language and translates your reply into your contact's language before you send it, inside WhatsApp Web (Chrome and Edge) and the Kaption desktop app for Mac and Windows. You turn on Live Translation per chat, pick your language, and type as usual; the original text stays visible so you can check it.

**What it does well:**

- Both directions: incoming messages are translated where they sit, and you see your translated reply before it goes out.
- 36 languages, from English, Spanish and Portuguese to Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Thai and Tamil.
- Voice notes too: transcribe a voice note first, then translate the text. Every account starts with 60 days of Business, unlimited; after that Free continues with limits on voice notes.
- The same extension adds summaries, reminders, privacy mode (blur) and screen lock.
- What leaves your computer is only the text you translate, with a language hint, without your name, number or contacts. It isn't kept after the translation comes back and is never used to train AI models. Lifetime local AI translates on the computer itself, with smaller models.

**Limits:**

- After your first 60 days, the Free plan doesn't include translation. If you translate every day and don't want to pay, WA Web Translate gives you more for free.
- It doesn't translate audio directly; it transcribes first, then translates the text.
- Slang, irony and unusual names can slip. When a price, a date or a promise is at stake, check the original.
- Chrome and Edge only, no Firefox or Safari.

**Price:** unlimited for your first 60 days; then Lifetime local AI, US$99 once, translates on your computer without limits, and Pro (US$11.99 a month, US$9.99 billed every 3 months or US$7.99 billed yearly) and Business (US$19.99 a month) translate in the cloud without limits. See [pricing](/pricing/).

**Store figures:** about 50,000 users, rated 4.8 from 5.5K ratings on the Chrome Web Store.

## 2. WA Web Translate (WADesk): is it really free?

Yes. Its listing says "200+ languages supported, completely free," and WADesk's pricing page doesn't charge for the extension. That makes it the strongest free option in this comparison.

**What it does well:**

- No cost for the translator, with no volume cap mentioned on the listing.
- A choice of Google, DeepL or AI translation engines.
- Per-chat languages and auto-detect.
- The listing also advertises real-time voice translation for WhatsApp voice messages.

**Limits:**

- Translation is done by Google, DeepL or AI engines, which process your text on their servers.
- It's a funnel into WADesk, a separate multi-account CRM. Scheduling, follow-up reminders, tags and AI replies live in the WADesk app, not in the extension.
- No plain voice-note transcripts, summaries or privacy blur in the extension.

**Price:** the extension is free. WADesk itself has a free Basic plan for 2 WhatsApp accounts, Pro at US$300 a year from 5 accounts and Max at US$550 a year from 5 accounts, as of Nov 3, 2026.

**Store figures:** 9,000 users, 4.9 from 250 ratings, last updated October 12, 2026.

## 3. WAPlus CRM: how much translation does the free plan give you?

WAPlus Free includes 3,000 translation characters a month, and paid plans raise the cap. Translation is one part of a broader CRM layer for WhatsApp Web.

**What it does well:**

- Auto or manual translation inside a tool that also has custom tabs, labels, contact cards, a sales pipeline and HubSpot, Salesforce and Zoho integrations.
- A generous free plan for a CRM: 2 custom tabs, 3 schedulers, 3 reminders, broadcasts and auto-reply.
- An AI chatbot for auto-replies on paid plans.

**Limits:**

- Translation is capped by characters: 3,000 a month on Free, 10,000 on Starter and 500,000 on Pro. Only Growth is unlimited.
- Prices are per user, and the pricing page doesn't say whether they're monthly or annualized rates.
- No voice-note transcription is advertised.
- Team features sync conversations to a WAPlus team space, with server backups.

**Price:** Starter US$12.99 per user, Pro US$17.99 per user, Growth US$20.99 per user, as of Nov 3, 2026 (billing period not stated on the page).

**Store figures:** 70,000 users, 4.9 from 4.1K ratings, last updated October 27, 2026.

## 4. Pragmaz: when is its translation worth it?

It's worth it if you already use Pragmaz to sell on WhatsApp, because translation comes with TranscriptAI, part of a paid sales suite. Pragmaz describes TranscriptAI as transcription, translation and voice.

**What it does well:**

- Translation and voice-note transcription in one feature.
- The surrounding suite covers a Kanban CRM, scheduled messages and statuses, chat export and multiple accounts in one tab.

**Limits:**

- TranscriptAI isn't among the free tools. The pricing page lists it as an R$7.99/month add-on and also says its plans include it, so read the page before you buy.
- Plans are in Brazilian reais and start at R$151.24 a month (R$120.99 a month on annual billing).
- Its Chrome Web Store privacy panel says it handles personally identifiable information.

**Price:** TranscriptAI add-on R$7.99 a month; Basic plan R$151.24 a month or R$120.99 a month on annual billing, as of Nov 3, 2026.

**Store figures:** 100,000 users, 4.2 from 3.6K ratings, last updated November 2, 2026.

## Which translator should you choose?

Start from how often you translate and what else you need:

- **Every day, and you don't want to pay:** WA Web Translate.
- **You need a CRM and translation is a side need:** WAPlus CRM, as long as the character cap fits.
- **You sell in Brazil on Pragmaz:** TranscriptAI.
- **You also get voice notes, want summaries, or want to blur chats on a shared screen:** Kaption. For daily translation, Lifetime local AI (US$99 once) or Pro (from US$7.99 a month billed yearly) makes it unlimited.

For more tools side by side, see the [WhatsApp Web tools comparison](/compare/).

## When isn't Kaption the right pick?

Kaption isn't the right pick in these cases:

- **You want unlimited translation for free.** Kaption translates free only in your first 60 days. WA Web Translate is free.
- **You need more than 36 languages.** WA Web Translate's listing says it supports 200+.
- **You want a CRM, pipeline or team inbox.** Kaption isn't a CRM. WAPlus CRM and Pragmaz have one.
- **You send broadcasts or campaigns.** Kaption deliberately doesn't do mass messaging, and its terms forbid bulk or unsolicited messages. WAPlus and Pragmaz offer broadcasts.
- **You use Firefox or Safari.** Kaption runs in Chrome and Edge, plus its desktop app.
